1. "Ever since we moved into the house, I've wanted to do something about the old stairs, but I was afraid that changing the stairs would be a very complicated procedure and not possible for us. After some research I came across Dr\u00f6mtrappor. They were able to describe the process \u2013 which turned out to be nowhere near as advanced as I thought \u2013 and also allowed me to customize the stairs the way I wanted them!\u201d<\/em> That's what interior and lifestyle blogger Nina Holst (Stylizimo) says about how her staircase change came about.<\/p>\n

She had already sanded and treated the floor when we came into the picture and the request was for the stairs to match her white-oiled spruce floor, which we matched with a white glaze on pine. The floor plan is the same as before, two stairs on top of each other from the entrance floor to the social areas on the 2nd floor and on to Nina's study in the loft. That it became glass railings is about creating a restful background for the dining area and living room, but also for the light to flow as freely as possible between the three floors.<\/p>\n

2. There used to be a door for the stairs to the basement, the old pine stairs are covered with contemporary plastic carpet. The door to the cellar is gone, leaving the new staircase in oak and painted white to become the obvious centerpiece of the hall.<\/p>\n

3. You have to look at some "before-after" several times to believe that it is the same space. This is one of those! On the entrance floor, the floor plan has been opened up in connection with the replacement of the stairs. The walls around the stairs have been removed and replaced by an open staircase with an underlying vang that further enhances the open impression. The upstairs has been given a much brighter look with the new staircase, some white paint and a new wallpaper.<\/p>\n

4. A classic \u2013 a pine staircase covered in needle felt that leads down to the furnished basement \u2013 has had to make way for a more modest staircase with oak steps, white walls and stainless steel railing posts.<\/p>\n

5. Many houses in Sweden have relatively spacious halls intended to accommodate the whole family's must-haves, but can still be perceived as cramped. The type of staircase you choose greatly affects how the space is perceived. In this case, the underlying, white-painted wing pieces make all the difference.<\/p>\n
