Surface treatment

The stairs are surface-treated during manufacture according to rational and environmentally friendly methods. Different surface treatments are recommended on different types of wood, so contact your salesperson for more information. Covering is carried out as standard on MDF-clad pine frames or birch for those who want solid wood.

Recommended combinations of our most common types of wood and surface treatments are shown here. We can also offer brushed step surfaces, a treatment of the wood that gives more structure. Read more about this here.

Twig yellowing: normally occurs afterwards if softwood is covered with paint, stained/lasered or surface treated with colored clear lacquers (lacquer glaze). We therefore disclaim all responsibility for any complaints in these respects.

Cover painting: Topcoating on steps is not of a worse quality than topcoating on railings and wall pieces, but the degree of wear and tear is significantly higher on the landing step and especially in the walkway. In other words, wear of the paint will become visible much faster and, in addition, the step will be worn unevenly. This type of wear is not grounds for complaint.
